Heavenly Stem Combinations — Rules and Transformation

The five heavenly-stem combinations (天干五合) pair stems six positions apart: 甲–己 combining to earth, 乙–庚 to metal, 丙–辛 to water, 丁–壬 to wood, 戊–癸 to fire.

Each pair is reported wherever it appears in a chart. Combination and transformation are two different claims.
Transformation conditions
This site reports an actual transformation (化) only when both hold: the two stems sit in adjacent pillars (year–month, month–day, day–hour), and the transformed element matches the month branch's element (得令). A pair that combines without meeting these stays a combination — reported, but not transformed. The strict reading follows 子平真诠.
