Chang Sheng Stage

长生 is one of the twelve life stages. It describes the day master's stage on a branch, not a guaranteed event.

How to Use It
Treat 长生 as a secondary tone. It can refine how a pillar feels in the chart, but it does not replace ten gods, seasonal strength, or branch interactions.

旧书从各支起长生、沐浴、冠带、临官、帝旺、衰、病、死、墓、绝、胎、养十二位有阳生阴死，阴生阳死之异焉。
官星财气长生，镇居于寅申巳亥。
盖尚有败乡之余灾也或自旺乡而行初至衰乡亦不可便以为祸盖犹披旺乡之尠福也譬之戊辰木人九月生大运作五嵗起于壬戌六嵗遇癸亥木之长生十六嵗运至甲子乃木人败之运兼遇甲子自死之金为木之身鬼岂不为灾也至二十六嵗运遇乙丑虽是木人冠以其初入丑乡尚甲子余灾而来故曰年虽逄于冠尚有余灾者欤或木行运至丁卯卯乃木旺之地
此造以俗论之，春金失令，旺财生杀，杀坐长生，必要扶身抑杀，不知春金虽不当令，地支两逢禄旺，又得辰时印比帮身，弱中变旺，所谓木嫩金坚。
