五行相生相尅其理昭然十干十二支五运六气岁月日时皆自此立更相为用在天则为气寒暑燥湿风在地则成形金木水火土形气相感而化生万物此造化生成之大纪也原其玅用可谓无穷矣 木主于东应春木之为言触也阳气触动冒地而生也水流趋东以生木也木上发而覆下乃自然之质也 火主于南应夏火之为言化也毁也阳在上阴在下毁然盛而变化万物也钻木取火木所生也然火无正体体本木焉出以应物尽而复入乃自然之气也 金主于西应秋金之为言禁也阴气始禁止万物而收敛披沙拣金土所生也生于土而别于土乃自然之形也 水主于北应冬水之为言润也阴气濡润任养万物也水西而东金所生也水流曲折顺下而达乃自然之性也 土主于中央兼位西南应于长夏土之为言吐也含吐万物将生者出将死者归为万物家故长于夏末火所生也土或胜水水乃反土自然之义也五行相尅子皆能为母复雠也木尅土土之子金反尅木金尅木木之子火反尅金火尅金金之子水反尅火水尅火火之子土反尅水土尅水水之子木反尅土互能相生乃其始也互能相尅乃其终也皆出乎天之性也素问所谓水生木木复生火是木受窃气故水怒而尅火即子逢窃气母乃力争与母被鬼伤子来力救其义一也强可攻弱土得木而达实可胜虚水得土而绝阴可消阳火得水而灭烈可敌刚金得火而缺坚可制柔木得金而伐故五者流行而更转顺则相生逆则相尅如是则各各为用以成其道而己
