2027 Astrology Year Ahead — Exact Solar Dates
Deep Oracle Astrology Team · 2026-08-11 · 5 min read
Most "year ahead" astrology is written months before the year it describes, from an almanac, and rounds every date to the nearest day. This page does the opposite: it publishes the thirteen moments the Sun actually crosses a sign boundary between December 2026 and January 2028, computed from solar longitude, to the minute, in UTC. Everything else on this page is derived from that table.
The 2027 solar calendar
The Sun enters a tropical sign at the instant its apparent longitude reaches an exact multiple of 30°. Those instants are what the table below records — not the conventional "March 21 to April 19" ranges that appear on the back of magazines, which are a rounded average and are wrong by up to a day and a half in any given year.
| Sun enters | Date (UTC) | Exact time (UTC) | Season ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capricorn | December 21, 2026 | 20:50 UTC | January 20 |
| Aquarius | January 20, 2027 | 07:29 UTC | February 18 |
| Pisces | February 18, 2027 | 21:33 UTC | March 20 |
| Aries | March 20, 2027 | 20:24 UTC | April 20 |
| Taurus | April 20, 2027 | 07:17 UTC | May 21 |
| Gemini | May 21, 2027 | 06:18 UTC | June 21 |
| Cancer | June 21, 2027 | 14:10 UTC | July 23 |
| Leo | July 23, 2027 | 01:04 UTC | August 23 |
| Virgo | August 23, 2027 | 08:14 UTC | September 23 |
| Libra | September 23, 2027 | 06:01 UTC | October 23 |
| Scorpio | October 23, 2027 | 15:32 UTC | November 22 |
| Sagittarius | November 22, 2027 | 13:16 UTC | December 22 |
| Capricorn | December 22, 2027 | 02:42 UTC | January 20 |
Two things in that table are worth noticing. 2027 has two Capricorn ingresses, on December 21, 2026 and December 22, 2027, because a solar year is about six hours longer than a calendar year and the ingress time drifts forward until a leap day pulls it back. And the seasons are not equal lengths — Cancer season runs about 31 days 11 hours while Capricorn season runs about 29 days 11 hours, because the Earth moves faster at perihelion in early January than at aphelion in early July. A horoscope that treats every sign season as a neat month is quietly wrong about both.
If you are near a boundary
Times are UTC. If you were born within a day of one of these dates, the date alone does not tell you your Sun sign — the clock time and your birth timezone do. Someone born at 21:00 on March 20, 2027 in London has a different Sun sign from someone born at 21:00 that day in New York, because the ingress falls at 20:24 UTC. This is the single most common way people are told the wrong Sun sign, and it is resolved by computation rather than by a table. Run the free natal chart calculator if your birthday sits on a cusp.
The twelve 2027 forecasts
Each sign page reads 2027 the same way: the Sun's actual position through the year, mapped onto that sign's fixed solar-house rotation, so the year's career, money, partnership and closing windows land on specific dates rather than vague months.

What a solar-house year-ahead can and cannot tell you
It can tell you when, with precision, and which department of life, with reasonable confidence. The Sun's transit through your 10th solar house genuinely is the period of the year when career questions surface most naturally, and knowing that period to the day is useful for planning.
It cannot tell you what will happen. That would require the rest of the chart — the Moon, the personal planets, the outer-planet transits to your own birth positions, and above all your birth time, which determines your rising sign and therefore your actual houses rather than your solar ones. A Sun-sign year-ahead is a real technique used honestly within its limits; it is not a substitute for a chart.
We have deliberately not published 2027 outer-planet ingresses, retrograde windows or eclipse dates on these pages. Those need to be computed against an ephemeris before they are printed, and a forecast that guesses at them in order to look complete is worse than one that says what it knows.
Where to go deeper
- How astrological transits actually work — the mechanism behind every dated claim above.
- The twelve houses explained — what a solar house is and how it differs from a real one.
- Your big three: Sun, Moon and rising — why the Sun sign is one third of the answer.
- Elements and modalities — the structure underneath the twelve.
- Synastry compatibility — if the 2027 question is about two people rather than one.
A note on how to use this
This is a symbolic framework for planning and reflection, not a prediction of events. It is not a substitute for medical, financial or legal advice.
