As a general-purpose language model, 通义千问 can produce text about 八字 that reads as though it were drawn from classical Chinese sources. Its output is shaped by statistical patterns in training data, not by access to a fixed textual corpus. When the model answers a technical question, it may generate a book title, a chapter heading, or a short quoted line. These citations can look identical to real ones because the model has learned the register in which such references ordinarily appear. The result is that an unsupported claim may arrive dressed as a quotation from a real tradition.
