What a Justice year does to The Hierophant

The year card is arithmetic, not opinion: add the digits of the year and reduce until the total is 22 or less. 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, and card 11 is Justice. Reduce once more — 1 + 1 = 2 — and you get The High Priestess sitting underneath it, which is the usual way a two-digit year card is read: the public card and the private one.

The Hierophant is often read as stuffy, which underrates it. Its real content is that some rules are load-bearing and following them is not cowardice. Justice's contribution is the distinction: which of your inherited rules is actually holding something up, and which is just old?
