自元旦日干顺数至几日逢辛日者即为得辛自元旦日支顺数至几日逢辰日者即为几龙治水
朔日 按朔者日月交㑹之辰也月本无光借日光以为光逺则光显近则光隠合朔日月同宫近度故不见月若复南北同度则日为月所蔽而日为之食矣故日食在朔

按上者周天四分之一也月犹银丸受光含影自合朔后去日渐逺日照其西故自下视之如银钩然是三日而哉生明也至初八日间去日九十度日照其半西明而东暗如弓之平分也因自亏而向盈故曰上
望日 按望日者日月相望之辰也日月相冲日在地下月在天上相距六宫对照而光满若南北同度则月值暗虚恰为地影所隔而月为之食矣故月食在望下
按下者周天四分之三也自望而后去日渐近日照其东而西亏是望后哉生魄也至二十三日间西去日二百七十度东去日九十度日照其半东明而西暗亦犹上之平分皆所谓近一而逺三也因自盈而向亏故曰下
