蔡邕独断曰支枝也其名一十有二子丑寅卯辰巳午未申酉戌亥是也○曹震圭曰子寅辰午申戌为六阳辰以配干也丑卯己未酉亥为六隂辰以配坤也按阳生于子于律为黄钟是为天统以次寅为太蔟辰为姑洗午为㽔宾申为夷则戌为无射皆以阳律配之故属阳隂生于未于律为林钟是为地统以次酉为南吕亥为应钟丑为大吕卯为夹钟已为仲吕皆以隂吕配之故属隂汉书律厯志云孶萌于子则子者孶也纽牙于丑则丑者纽也引达于寅则寅者引也冒茆于卯则卯者茆也谓丛生也振美于辰则辰者振也已盛于已则已谓阳气已岀而盛也咢布于午则午者布也昧𫉁于未则未者昧也申坚于申则申者坚也畱孰于酉则酉者畱也毕入于戌则戌者入也该阂于亥则亥者该也以四时言之则寅卯辰为春巳午未为夏申酉戌为秋亥子丑为冬以五行言之则寅卯东方木巳午南方火申酉西方金亥子北方水辰戌丑未四维土
