德胜才者，局合君子之风；才胜德者，用显多能之象。

庚金生于仲夏，正官得禄，年时酉丑通根，正得中和之气。寅午财官拱合，财不坏印，官能生印，财官印三字，生化不悖，癸从戊合，去其阴浊之气，所以品行端方，恒存古道。早游泮水，训蒙自守；丁酉登科，后挑知县不赴，情愿就教，安贫乐道。有人言其小就者，片曰：功名者，非掇巍科登高位而为功名也，功成名自著，况吾无经济材，就教职不悉衣食不敷，吾行吾志，不负君父之恩足矣！

己土生于仲冬，寒湿之体，水冷木凋，庚金又克木生水，似乎混浊。妙在年干透丙，一阳解冻，冬日可暖，去庚金之浊，不特己喜其和暖，而甲木亦喜其发荣；更妙戌时燥土，砥定泛浊之水，培其凋枯之木，而日主根元亦固。况甲己为中和之合，故处世端方，恒存古道，廉恭和厚，有古君子之风；微嫌水势太旺，功名不过禀贡。

此造水冷金寒，土冻木凋，得年干透丙，一阳解冻，似乎佳美。第丙辛合而化水，以阳变阴，反增寒湿之气。阳正之象反为阴邪之类，故其为人贪婪无厌，奸谋百出，趋财奉势，见富贵而生谄容，势利骄矜。所谓多能之象也。
