Heavenly Kitchen (天厨贵人): An Auspicious BaZi Spirit-Star

Definition

Tian Chu Gui Ren (the Heavenly Kitchen) is an auspicious [spirit-star](/bazi/glossary/shen-sha); the "heavenly kitchen" signifies abundant food-salary, the pleasures of the table, ease of food and clothing, and an affinity with cuisine and dining. This site derives it from the **day stem (year stem too)**, taking the Salary position of the Day Master's [Eating God](/bazi/glossary/shi-shen).

Derivation

Tian Chu takes the "Salary" of the Day Master's Eating God. For Jia Wood the Eating God is Bing Fire, whose Salary is at Si, so a Jia day's Tian Chu is at Si; for Yi the Eating God is Ding, whose Salary is at Wu, so Yi's is at Wu; and so on. The branch present carries it.

Meaning and Use

- Signifies ample food-salary and the pleasures of the table — never wanting for food or clothing, often with a bond to dining and hospitality. - With a strong [Salary star](/bazi/glossary/lu-shen) or [Eating God](/bazi/glossary/shi-shen), the food-salary blessing shows more. - An auspicious star still needs a pattern to be a true blessing.

Common Misconception

**"Tian Chu means becoming a chef."** It signifies the blessing of food-salary — abundance of food and clothing — not a destined culinary career.
