Substance and Function in BaZi

Substance and Function is a BaZi element-balance term. It helps describe climate, momentum, support, restraint, or flow inside the chart.
Example
Use it to compare season, day-master strength, stems, branches, roots, revelation, and luck-cycle activation.
Limit
It is not a standalone forecast or a fixed favorable/unfavorable rule. Read it with the full chart structure.

道有体用，不可以一端论也，要在扶之抑之得其宜。
接运丙寅，体用皆宜，仕至黄堂。
易以八卦兼三才而两立为天地广轮之体用故始三一而为乾二为坤，生六六九九之变，为四象五行之数，然后圣人分阴分阳迭用柔刚以相易之，故天地位而成章也。
