Functional Vitality in BaZi

Functional Vitality is a BaZi element-balance term. It helps describe climate, momentum, support, restraint, or flow inside the chart.
Example
Use it to compare season, day-master strength, stems, branches, roots, revelation, and luck-cycle activation.
Limit
It is not a standalone forecast or a fixed favorable/unfavorable rule. Read it with the full chart structure.

生火却忌见火多多则烬矣虽生旺之金亦不能伤盖金就我败得金反贵水土盛者亦贵惟忌甲午金伤之五行要论云壬午自死之木木死绝则魂游而神气灵秀禀之者挺静明之徳抱仁者之勇建立功行可谓静而有勇延年益寿癸未自库之木生旺则佳虽乙丑金不能冲破各归其根而不相犯忌庚戌乙未金五行要论云癸未木为正印挺文明吉会之徳禀之者类抱间世之才
原注，精气神气皆无气也，五行大率以金水为精气，木火为神气，而土所以实之者也。
若金神气轻，柱中有火制之太过，大畏火乡太制其金神，又喜金水以助其金神出。
无土挽囘凶熖为人多受漂忽震荡之祸得吉犹凶也若金见水却防水是何宫主田妻男吉官福尤髙是身得此福若生无用之星奴仆兄弟无益于我精神气脉为彼所窃平生为人无力以小失大如金见木为财防是何宫主妻得妻财奴得奴用之类活法推之无不中矣
夫疾病者，乃精神气血之所主，各有感伤；
五行大率以金水为精气，木火为神气，而土所以实之者也，有神足不见其精，而精自足者，有精足不见其神，而神自足者，有精缺神索而日主孤弱者，有神不足而精有余者，有精不足而神有余者，有精神俱缺而气旺者，有精缺而得神以助
