Period 6 — Six White Qian Metal (1964–1983)

Period 6, the Six White Qian Metal period, covers 1964–1983, closing the Middle Cycle. It corresponds to the Qian trigram, the Metal element, the northwest, and the Wu Qu star. Qian is heaven and the father — strength, authority, machinery. Traditional readings associate the period with heavy industry, mechanization and institutional authority; the association is a tendency observation in the Xuankong tradition rather than a causal claim.
