Deep Oracle Editorial Team · 2026-07-27 · 1 min read

"Red horse and red sheep" (chi ma hong yang) is the folk name for the sexagenary year-pair bingwu ("red horse", fire-horse) and dingwei ("red sheep", fire-sheep) — a tradition, attested since the Song era, of treating these paired years as eventful. The most recent pair was 1966–1967; the next is 2026–2027.
