BaZi Chart Analysis
Teresa Teng — BaZi Chart Analysis
Teresa Teng (1953–1995) was a Taiwanese singer, TV personality, musician, and philanthropist, widely regarded as one of the most culturally significant Chinese‑language artists of the 20th century. Her gentle yet penetrating voice, sung in multiple languages, crossed political and linguistic borders and helped shape modern Chinese pop across East and Southeast Asia.
The chart, as computed
Every pillar below is computed by this site's engine from the birth date on file, using the solar terms rather than the Gregorian month — so the Month pillar changes at the 節 boundary, not on the 1st. Nothing in this reading was written before the chart was computed.
| Pillar | 干支 | Romanised | Ten God |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year | 壬辰 | Ren Chen | Shi Shen |
| Month | 癸丑 | Gui Chou | Shang Guan |
| Day | 庚辰 | Geng Chen | Day Master |
Day Master: 庚 (Geng, yang Metal). The engine reads this chart's day master as balanced, in a 正印格 (Zheng Yin) structure — a chart organised around support, learning and backing.
No birth hour is on record for Teresa Teng. The hour pillar is therefore omitted rather than guessed, and nothing in this reading depends on it — no hour-branch relation, no luck-cycle direction, and no claim that would need the fourth pillar to stand up. Three pillars is a smaller chart, not a less accurate one.
What the ten gods put where
- Year stem — 食神 (Shi Shen): the output — expression, craft, ease of production.
- Month stem — 伤官 (Shang Guan): the disruptor — talent that will not stay inside the rules.
The Ten Gods are relational labels, not qualities: each one names how a stem stands to the Day Master, so the same 干支 means something different in a different chart. That is why the table above is worth more than any general description of Geng people.
The branch relations the engine found
- 六破 · a break — 丑 (Chou) / 辰 (Chen), in the month and year branches. A destabilising relation, weaker than a clash.
- 自刑 · a self-punishment — 辰 (Chen) / 辰 (Chen), in the year and day branches. A branch repeated against itself.
Reading it
A balanced Geng Metal day master in a Zheng Yin structure, with Shi Shen on the year and Shang Guan on the month — both output gods present, above a day master that is neither strong nor weak. Two mild branch relations, a Chou–Chen break and a Chen–Chen self-punishment. The tradition reads a balanced day master carrying doubled output as the configuration most able to produce continuously without depleting itself, which is a statement about the structure's economy.
What this page does not claim
This is interpretation of a computed configuration, and the boundary matters. Nothing above says the chart caused anything, and nothing above was reverse-engineered from what the subject is known to have done. Where the birth hour is not on record, the hour pillar is absent rather than estimated.
This is not a substitute for medical, financial or legal advice.
Work out your own chart
To compare this against your own chart, run it through the BaZi chart calculator — it uses the same solar-term boundaries as the table above. Definitions for anything unfamiliar are in the BaZi glossary, and the celebrity index lists the other charted figures.
