How to Assess Lending Money to Friends and Family in BaZi
Deep Oracle Practitioner Desk · 2026-09-19 · 7 min read
In bazi analysis, lending money to relatives or friends is often framed through the interaction of certain Ten Gods, especially the wealth star and the robbery or friend star. It is tempting to read a chart and conclude that a person should never lend money, or that a particular year guarantees a loss. The material below treats this question as a structural question about relationship types and the chart’s capacity to hold wealth under pressure. It does not turn those structures into certainty about real people, real money, or real legal outcomes.
借钱是一个法律与关系问题,先说这一点
Before any bazi reading, the act of lending money to a relative or friend is primarily a legal and relational matter. A chart can describe recurring tendencies, such as how a person handles pressure from close associates or how wealth behaves when social bonds are involved. It cannot establish whether a specific loan is enforceable, whether a friend is trustworthy, or whether repayment will occur. Those questions belong to contract law, evidence, and the actual history between the parties.
The traditional vocabulary of bazi may say that a robbery star takes wealth, but this is a structural phrase. It means that in a given configuration, wealth is marked as being under pressure from a particular type of relation. It does not mean that every friend is a thief, or that every loan to a sibling ends in loss. The chart gives a pattern; the loan itself is a separate act with its own terms and its own legal consequences.
财星与比劫:一组常被误读的对应
In bazi, the wealth star is the element or Ten God that the day master controls. It is the thing the day master overcomes, and therefore it is associated with what one manages, acquires, or holds. The friend star and robbery star are the elements that share the same polarity or opposite polarity with the day master and can divide or seize that wealth. The officer and killer stars, by contrast, are described as protecting wealth, because they restrain the friend and robbery stars.
This gives a simple model: wealth is what the day master holds; friend and robbery stars compete for it; officer and killer stars guard it. A chart with strong friend and robbery stars and weak officer stars may describe a person for whom close associates repeatedly become competitors over resources. But this is a description of a recurring structure, not a verdict on any particular friend or relative.
The strength of the day master matters here in a limited way. When the day master is strong and can bear wealth, the chart is said to be able to hold wealth. When the day master is weak and wealth is flourishing, the opposite is said to apply. This is a statement about structural capacity. It describes whether the chart’s configuration suggests that wealth is sustainable under the pressure shown in the chart. It is not a promise about income, investment performance, or the outcome of a loan. A strong day master with wealth can still make a bad loan. A weak day master with flourishing wealth can still have a friend repay on time. The structure describes tendency; it does not dictate events.
六亲对应里,亲友只覆盖了一部分
The Six Relatives in bazi are mapped through the Ten Gods onto a limited set of relationships: parents, siblings, spouse, and children. The indirect resource star is associated with the mother, the wealth star with the father, the friend and robbery stars with siblings, and the day branch with the spouse palace. These are the main correspondences. They do not cover every friend, every distant relative, or every social acquaintance in the modern sense.
This matters when asking whether the chart shows how lending to a friend will go. The friend and robbery stars point to siblings or to people who occupy a sibling-like position in the structure. They do not point to every person one happens to call a friend. A close friend may function like a sibling in a particular life, but the chart itself does not say that. The Ten Gods mark a type of relation, not a specific person or event. When someone says that a robbery star is active this year, the statement is about a relation type becoming prominent in the structure. It is not a statement that a named individual will ask for money, or that a specific friend will fail to repay.
The same limit applies to the wealth star. To say that wealth is controlled or divided is to describe a structural position. It is not the same as saying that money will be lost. Adding concreteness to a structural description is a common error. The phrase “this year the wealth star is restrained” becomes “this year there will be financial loss” only if the reader inserts a specificity that the chart did not provide. The chart can say that wealth is under pressure from a relation type; it cannot say which relation, which amount, or which outcome.
写下来的约定比盘面有用
A written agreement is more useful than a chart reading when lending money to a relative or friend. The chart may show whether a person tends to be pressured by close associates, but the agreement determines the terms of the loan, the repayment schedule, and the evidence available if something goes wrong. From a practical standpoint, the written agreement does more to protect the lender than any Ten God configuration.
This does not mean the chart is irrelevant. A person whose chart shows wealth under repeated pressure from friend and robbery stars may benefit from noticing that pattern and being more careful with informal loans. But the chart cannot replace documentation. It can only describe a tendency. The loan itself is a legal act, and its enforceability depends on the law and the written record, not on the day master’s strength.
借据与还款安排应当写在纸上
The loan note and the repayment arrangement should be put on paper. This is the only reliable way to establish that a loan existed, that a specific amount was transferred, and that repayment was expected under stated terms. A bazi reading cannot do this. It cannot show the amount, the date, the interest, the repayment schedule, or the identity of the borrower. Those facts must be recorded outside the chart.
When a person asks how bazi sees lending money to relatives or friends, the responsible answer includes this boundary. The chart can describe a recurring pressure pattern. It cannot create a receipt. It cannot prove an oral promise. It cannot substitute for a signed note or a transfer record. Where the chart and the law point in different directions, the law governs the loan. The chart remains a descriptive tool, not a decision-making instrument for financial transactions.

This page does not give financial advice or legal advice. It does not tell you whether to lend money to a specific relative or friend. It does not predict repayment. It does not assess the trustworthiness of any person. It does not tell you to avoid lending because a friend star is active, nor does it tell you to lend because an officer star protects wealth.
The statements here are limited to the structural vocabulary of bazi. They describe how the wealth star, friend star, robbery star, and officer star interact in a chart, and how those interactions have been traditionally read. They also describe what those readings cannot do. No conclusion about a real loan should be drawn from this page alone. If you are considering lending money, the relevant sources are the written agreement, the evidence of transfer, and the applicable law. A bazi chart is not among them.
