How to Decide Renewing Lease or Moving with BaZi
Deep Oracle Practitioner Desk · 2026-09-19 · 6 min read
In a BaZi reading, the question of whether to renew a lease or move is not answered by a single star or a single pillar. The chart describes tendencies in movement, attachment to place, and periods when certain relational structures are strengthened or weakened. What it does not contain is the lease itself: the rent amount, the deposit terms, the renewal clause, or the condition of the building. Those are external facts. The chart can only show the kind of pressure or inclination that surrounds a period of decision.
续租问题里,真正的变量是什么
The real variable in a lease renewal question is not the address. It is the degree to which the chart supports staying in one place or moving. That degree is read through movement indicators such as 驿马, through the environmental layer represented by the 月柱, and through the active time frames shown by 大运 and 流年. Each of these layers contributes something different.
A chart with strong movement indicators may describe a person whose living situation changes more often, or who feels unsettled when one place becomes too fixed. A chart without such indicators may describe someone who tends to remain in the same environment for long stretches. Neither tendency is a verdict on any particular lease. They are background dispositions.
When a specific year is examined, the chart shows whether the relationships that support stability are being reinforced or weakened. For example, if the structures tied to the home environment are being clashed or drained in a given year, the chart may indicate a period when staying put feels less natural. If those same structures are being supported, the period may lean toward continuation. But this is still a statement about structure, not about a contract.
驿马是查表得出的,不是搬家信号
驿马 is a branch derived from the year branch or the day branch. It is not computed from the Five Elements interactions among the stems and branches. It is found by a fixed correspondence: each of the three branches in a 三合 group has an assigned opposite branch that serves as its 驿马. For example, when the year or day branch is 申,子, or 辰, the 驿马 is 寅. When the year or day branch is 寅,午, or 戌, the 驿马 is 申. The same pattern applies to the other groups.
Because this is a lookup result, 驿马 is a label applied to a branch, not a conclusion drawn from the chart's elemental logic. This matters for how it should be read. When 驿马 appears in the natal chart, it can be interpreted as a traditional tendency toward not being fixed in one place. That is a tendency note, not an instruction. It does not mean the person will move every time the lease ends. It does not mean that staying is wrong. It means the chart contains a pattern that classical reading associates with movement.
In a year or a luck pillar, the appearance of 驿马 can be noted in the same way. If a 流年 or 大运 brings the 驿马 branch into contact with the chart, the period may carry a stronger movement flavor. But a movement flavor is not the same as a move. It can show up as travel, as a change in routine, as restlessness, or as a change in the way a person relates to their home. The chart does not specify which of these will happen.
月柱与环境:这层对应的实际用法
The 月柱 corresponds to the environment in which a person grows up. In this context, environment means the formative setting: the household, the early neighborhood, the family atmosphere, and the conditions that shaped the person before adulthood. It is not the same as the current rented property. It is the structural layer that describes how a person relates to the idea of home and surroundings.
When the question is whether to renew a lease, the 月柱 can be read for what it says about attachment to environment. A stable 月柱 with supportive relationships may describe someone who is slow to leave a familiar setting. A 月柱 under clash or pressure may describe someone whose relationship to home is more changeable. These are not statements about the quality of the apartment. They are statements about the person's underlying relationship to place.
The actual rented property — its location, its condition, its cost — is not encoded in the 月柱. The 月柱 does not say whether the roof leaks or whether the landlord will raise the rent. It says something about how the person experiences the environment they are in. That distinction is important. If a reading treats the 月柱 as a stand-in for the current address, it overstates what the chart can show.
结论止步之处
大运 and 流年 show which types of relationships are strengthened or weakened during a given period. A period may emphasize resources, or pressure, or movement, or stability. That is a structural change. It is not a list of events. When a certain 大运 activates a branch that clashes the 月柱, the chart shows that the environmental layer is under stress. It does not show that the person will move. It shows that the period carries a certain kind of friction around environment. The person may move, or may stay and experience that friction in another way.
Similarly, when a 流年 supports the structures tied to home, the chart may describe a period when staying is easier. But it does not say that staying is the correct choice. It says that the structural current favors continuation. Whether the lease terms are acceptable is a separate question.
Rent, deposit, and contract duration are real-world data that can be checked directly. They are not part of the BaZi input. A chart cannot reveal the rent amount, the renewal clause, or the landlord's intention. Those facts belong to the lease document and to the negotiation between tenant and landlord. Any reading that claims to extract them from the chart is going beyond the method's proper boundary.
This site's reports do not say that a certain event will happen in a certain year. They do not write sentences of the form "you will move in 2025" or "you will renew in 2026." What they can say is that a given period shows a strengthening or weakening of particular structures, and that such a pattern has a traditional reading. The rest remains with the person making the decision, using the chart as one input among several.
