Follow-up Questions After Report Delivery

A report’s follow-up policy is not a minor afterthought. Whether you may ask questions after purchase, how many questions you may ask, and for how long are all part of what is being delivered. For that reason, the follow-up arrangement deserves to be compared alongside the price when you are choosing a report.

追问是购买时要一起比的一项

When you buy a Chinese-metaphysics reading, you are not only buying a document. You are also buying the boundary around that document: what it covers, what it does not cover, and whether the person who produced it remains available to explain it. A report that is cheaper but comes with no follow-up may be less useful than a slightly more expensive report that includes a short round of clarification. This is especially true when the report uses technical vocabulary such as the ten gods or the stems and branches, which may not be immediately clear to every reader.

The follow-up policy is therefore a delivery term. It should be read as carefully as the number of pages, the style of writing, or the claimed method. If a seller does not state the policy clearly, that absence is itself information. In most cases, a clearly stated follow-up policy is a better working basis than a vague promise that questions are welcome.

三种常见的追问安排

In practice, three arrangements are common.

The first is no follow-up at all. Once the report is delivered, the transaction is closed. If you later find a sentence unclear, or if you want to ask how a particular stem or branch applies to a specific month, you cannot return to the author within the original purchase.

The second is limited follow-up included with the report. This often takes the form of one to three questions, or a short window of time such as seven days after delivery. The questions are usually expected to concern the report itself: something you did not understand, something you want expanded, or something you want tied to a particular date within the period the report covers.

The third is a separately purchased dialogue service. This is not a clarification of the report but a conversation in its own right. It may be sold by the hour, by the session, or by the number of questions. Because it is separate, its scope and limits may be different from those of the original report.

追问的范围比次数更重要

People often focus on how many questions they may ask. But the more important variable is usually the range. A follow-up policy may allow many questions, yet each answer may be narrowly confined to the original written report. Another policy may allow only a few questions, but each may be broader.

The key distinction is whether the follow-up answers are limited to your chart and to that specific report, or whether they may extend to any question at all. If the range is limited, then a follow-up answer should be traceable. Every stem, branch, and ten god that appears in the answer ought to have a source in the report or in the chart on which the report is based. If an answer introduces a claim that cannot be found in either place, then the policy is not being applied as stated.

This is not a small technical point. A reader who cannot check an answer against the report has no way to distinguish clarification from new material. Range therefore shapes what a follow-up answer is worth.

追问答不上来的两种情形

There are times when a follow-up question cannot be answered. In most cases, this falls into one of two situations.

The first is that the question lies outside what the chart can address. A bazi chart, for example, is not a general-purpose oracle. There are topics it may not speak to in any grounded way. Asking a chart a question it cannot answer does not produce a useful answer; it produces speculation dressed as method. The proper response in this situation is a sentence that marks the boundary. It should say plainly that the question is outside the scope of the chart or the method. It should not offer a conclusion that appears substantive but has no basis in the chart.

The second is that the chart may in principle speak to the question, but the report itself did not cover that area. A report may focus on career for a given year and say little about health, even though the chart contains health-related material. If you then ask a health question, the author may not be able to answer it under a follow-up policy that is limited to the report. The material may exist in the chart, but it was not part of what was delivered.

These two situations are different, and they call for different language. In the first, the answer should acknowledge a limit of the method. In the second, the answer should acknowledge a limit of the document. In neither case should the author quietly substitute a new reading while presenting it as clarification.

购买前可以直接问的两句话

Because follow-up arrangements vary, it is reasonable to ask directly before buying. Two short questions can clarify most of what matters.

The first is whether follow-up questions are limited to the scope of the report. The answer tells you whether an answer must be traceable to what you already paid for, or whether the seller may introduce new material under the heading of clarification.

The second is whether there is a time limit. Some sellers allow follow-up for a few days after delivery. Others allow it indefinitely but with a small number of questions. The time limit matters because a report often needs to sit for a while before a good question forms. If the window closes too quickly, the follow-up may be of limited use even when it is nominally included.

These two questions do not guarantee anything. They simply make the delivery terms explicit before money changes hands. In this field, where much depends on interpretation, a clear boundary is often more valuable than a generous-sounding but vague offer. A buyer who knows the follow-up range and time limit before purchase is in a better position to compare reports, not only by price or by style, but by what is actually being promised.
