If the engine is working correctly, the month pillar should change between the two runs. If the month pillar stays the same in both runs, the tool is likely using a date-only boundary. If the month pillar changes on a qi day as well, the tool is likely treating all twenty-four solar terms as month boundaries. The test isolates the boundary logic from other parts of the charting process and shows whether the tool respects the exact minute of the jie.
